The Brett Coat in Boucle
The Brett coat is fantastically flattering and femine. It is designed to fall to the calf, box pleats at the shoulders and gathered bell cuffs. It is superbly well-suited to wearing above a shorter sleeve or flared sleeve dress and has a generous swing.
The Brett is cut generously for the fuller busted and curvier of shape.
Two small seams accentuate a flattering waisted shape at the back, while jetted pockets sit at a subtly slanted angle at the front.
The design can be worn open or closed. When closed, the two front panels of the coat should be able to meet without either straining at the rear or overlapping at the front; they can be held together to keep the coat closed with any of our closures.
Body Type
The Brett works well on curvier frames with more generous busts – for those with straighter shapes we recommend the Delany Coat.
Customising the Brett
The Brett has a simple round neck, but can be ordered with a Mandarin or Nehru Collar.
You can also opt to have the pattern taken in or let out at the bust and shoulders, cut to a longer or shorter length, and to lengthen or shorten its sleeves. Please note that for warmer weight fabrics the sleeves are longer, for lighter weight fabrics they are cut shorter – do advise if you prefer yours differently.
You can add any of our closures to the Brett Coat.
