The Delany Coat in Wool
The Delany coat is fantastically flattering and femine. It is designed to fall to the calf, box pleats at the shoulders and gathered bell cuffs. It is superbly well-suited to wearing above a shorter sleeve or flared sleeve dress and has a generous swing.
Two small seams accentuate a flattering waisted shape at the back, while jetted pockets sit at a subtly slanted angle at the front.
The design can be worn open or closed. When closed, the two front panels of the coat should be able to meet without either straining at the rear or overlapping at the front; they can be held together to keep the coat closed with any of our closures.
Body Type
The Delany works well on straighter frames with more modest busts – for those with curvier shapes we recommend the Brett Coat.
Customising the Delany
The Delany has a simple round neck, but can be ordered with a Mandarin, Low Mandarin or Nehru Collar.
You can opt to have the pattern taken in or let out at the shoulders, cut to a longer or shorter length, and to lengthen or shorten its sleeves. Please note that because these are warmer weight fabrics, we cut the sleeves to a longer length than the diagram above suggests. Do have a look at the size charts which indicate this - or get in touch specifiying your preferred length.
You can add any of our closures to the Delany Coat.

We have suggested a lining and trim to match each fabric. You are free to chose others from our house selection. If you would like to plump for an alternative, please note this at checkout, specifying which you would prefer.
Shipment
If we are making to a standard size with bespoke adjustments, we aim to ship within 14 days. If you need yours more urgently, drop us an email and we will do our best!
