A truly British affair, the Quilted Frink is a warm and comforting coat that will protect against the rain, the traditional way – with wool and oilskin.
The Quilted Frink is comprised of an outer coloured layer of dry oilskin or water repellent treated cotton from British Millerain. Inside is a layer of Woolkeepers® wool, that is quilted to a light layer of calico for us by the wonderful Caledonian Quilting. A leather bias trim inside is made specially for us by CA Cornish in Somerset. Finally it is sewn with a cotton barrier lining or striped ticking by Musa at our workshop in London. We ship it out in traditional stapled boxes made especially for the coats by our treasured box-makers W MacCarthy & Sons in Woolwich.
The coat has a pocket in each side seam and generous full length sleeves with deep cuffs. Tucks at the front and back create an unusual and eye-catching shape. A strong two-way zip allows you to close the coat up for warmth, while releasing an opening at the bottom – useful for striding out, when driving or riding a bicycle.

You can opt to have the Quilted Frink cut to a longer or shorter length, and its sleeves lengthened or shortened.

You can choose to have a contrasting inside facing (as standard the fabric on the inside of the neck will match your outer).

Two lining and trim combinations are suggested for each fabric.

The size table below shows the measurements of the Quilted Frink in both inches and centimetres. The graphic and accompanying table show the points at which the measurements have been taken.
In selecting your size please remember that these are the garment measurements – your own measurements will be smaller than those shown on the chart – ie a size 8 might typically have a bust measurement of 83cm, fitting a coat with a bust of 91cm.
When selecting your size, please pay extra special attention to the fact that the Quilted Frink has four layers - the outer fabric that you see in the shots, a layer of wool wadding, a light calico which it is backed to ... and finally a cotton lining. It is a warm coat, but do think what you might want to wear underneath it and remember that while we can take coats in, we cannot let them out.
