about the vasey

The Vasey is one of the most shaped and tailored of our coats. It has neatly tailored shoulders and a structure that mirrors the traditional hourglass shape.

Flattering for all sizes, this coat is designed with the fuller figure in mind. Full length sleeves are slitted at the wrist and have deep internal hems, allowing the wearer to fold-back the cuff elegantly. It has two hidden seam pockets and is designed to be worn low on the calf.

While the coat is designed to be worn open, the two front panels should be able to meet without straining at the rear.

The Vasey is designed for the curvier frame and is hugely flattering.

You can opt to add a Nehru collar to your Vasey coat.
You can opt to have the Vasey taken in or let out at the shoulders, and nipped in or let out at the bust. It can also be cut to a longer or shorter length, and its sleeves lengthened or shortened.
You can chose to have the Vasey made without pockets.
You can add any of our closures to this coat.
A lining and trim combination is suggested for each fabric, but you are free to choose from our house selection.

The size table below shows the measurements of the Vasey coat in both inches and centimetres. The graphic and accompanying table show the points at which the measurements have been taken.

In selecting your size please remember that these are the garment measurements – your own measurements will be smaller than those shown on the chart – ie a size 8 might typically have a bust measurement of 83cm, fitting a coat with a bust of 94cm.

When selecting your size, please bear in mind what you think you might want to wear underneath your coat and remember that while we can take coats in, we cannot let them out.
