about our toile service
Using our toile service is an easy way to find out whether a style will work for you, which size will fit you best, and whether you need any size adjustments. We have a calico toile made up in each size and style that we offer and for a £100 fee, refundable against your first order, we will ship you out a toile in the size and style of your choice along with your selected fabric swatches and a return postage label.
The toile is made up in the traditional calico used for fittings and we recommend that you book in a call with us while you have it, in case of any doubts on the ultimate size and fit. The calico toile is unlined and likely lighter (and therefore more generous in sizing) than the coat will be once made up. We will happily guide you through this on a call once you have the toile.

On receipt of the toile you have five days to try it on before returning it to us. If you don't get it right the first time, don't worry. If you need a second toile, just ask – as soon as we receive the first toile back, we will happily send you another. If, on the other hand, after trying the toile on you decide to do something else altogether, please send it back to us and we will refund you your deposit, minus the postage costs.

style measurements
The tables below set out the outer measurements of each style in both inches and centimetres. The graphic and accompanying table show the points at which the measurements have been taken.
In selecting your size please remember that these are the outer measurements of each garments. Your own measurements will be smaller than those shown on the chart – ie a size 8 might typically have a bust measurement of 83cm, fitting a coat with a bust of 91cm.

When selecting your size, please bear in mind both the thickness of the fabric you have chosen and what you think you might want to wear underneath your coat and remember that while we can take coats in, we cannot let them out. If in doubt, please get in touch.

bespoke sizing
If you don't think our house sizes will do for you, please don't worry.

We can produce coats to longer or shorter lengths and with different bust, waist, shoulder, hip and arm measurements. Please contact us at info@ednerat.com. Indicate which model, fabric and size you are interested in, and which measurements you might need adapting. We will respond as swiftly as possible confirming whether we have sufficient fabric in stock to fulfil your order; we will then price it and start making it if we can. If we don't have – and can't obtain – a sufficient amount of your chosen fabric, we will seek to source you an alternative.

As with all adjustments to our house sizes and styles, once the necessary alterations are agreed we will let you know the costs involved. If you are happy to proceed we will then send you an invoice. We will request payment in full prior to cutting and making your coat. Making payment constitutes you placing an order with us. Please be aware that bespoke and modified coats cannot be returned.
